Seven methods. Three redemption paths (Skrill, Crypto, ACH) is competitive.
Notably absent: PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Prizeout, Cash App.
Why the Amex + Crypto combination matters
American Express acceptance at sweepstakes operators is rare. Most decline Amex at the issuer-network level. Among brands we test, only SweepSlots, WOW Vegas, Golden Hearts, and Dara accept Amex.
Crypto rails at sweepstakes operators are also concentrated. Stake.us, Moonspin, Scrooge, and SweepSlots offer crypto cashier options.
The intersection — Amex acceptance and crypto rails at the same cashier — is rare. Among brands we test, only SweepSlots ships both. Golden Hearts has Amex but not crypto; Stake.us and Moonspin have crypto but not Amex. SweepSlots is the unique combination.
For high-spend players who route purchases through Amex for Membership Rewards points but want crypto for fast redemption, SweepSlots is the only operator that supports both sides of the workflow.
The Amex purchase test
We submitted the $20 first-purchase pack via American Express Tuesday May 13, 2026, at 11:24 PM Eastern. The Amex card entry took 12 seconds (including the 15-digit Amex number and 4-digit CID). The cashier processed in 12 seconds to confirmation. 600,000 GC + 40 SC credited at 11:24 PM.
The Amex statement showed the transaction descriptor as Regal Technologies / SweepSlots. No issuer-side flagging from American Express.
Amex Membership Rewards points credited at standard 1x for the merchant category.
The Skrill redemption test
We submitted a 40 SC redemption via Skrill Thursday at 4:18 PM Eastern. Funds appeared in our Skrill account at 1:36 AM Friday. Total: 9 hours 18 minutes.
The Crypto (USDC) redemption test
We submitted a 60 SC equivalent USDC redemption Thursday at 4:32 PM. The USDC transfer broadcast on Solana mainnet, confirmed in 2 block intervals, and landed in our Phantom wallet at 4:57 PM. Total: 25 minutes.
Comparable to Scrooge’s 22-minute USDC redemption. The on-chain settlement speed is the structural advantage of crypto rails versus traditional bank-transfer paths.
The ACH redemption test
We submitted an 80 SC bank-transfer redemption Thursday at 4:45 PM. The bank deposit cleared Saturday at 6:45 AM. Total: 38 hours.
Mid-pack relative to the 2024 cohort. Faster than McLuck typical (48 to 60 hours), comparable to Jackpota (38 hours).
Discover acceptance
Discover-only cardholders (a non-trivial slice of US credit-building consumers) can purchase at SweepSlots. Among brands we test that accept Discover: SweepSlots, Crown Coins, Legendz, Rolling Riches, WOW Vegas, Modo.us, Funrize, Golden Hearts.
eGift card workaround
When card processing fails (Amex specifically can fail on smaller US sweepstakes operators due to Amex’s higher merchant fee), retail prepaid Visa, Mastercard, or Discover gift cards can be entered in the cashier. Standard sweepstakes workaround.
KYC requirements before redemption
| Document | What it confirms |
|---|---|
| Government-issued photo ID | Identity, age 18+ |
| Proof of address (within 90 days) | Residence outside the 6 restricted states |
| Skrill, bank, or crypto wallet verification | Receiving destination ownership for each method |
Total KYC turnaround: 42 hours.
Tax disclosure
Winnings above $600 in aggregate per calendar year trigger an IRS Form 1099-MISC under Publication 525. Aggregated across all redemption methods (Skrill, Crypto, ACH).
For crypto redemptions specifically, the reportable value is the USD cash-equivalent at the time of redemption. USDC and other stablecoins are 1:1 USD-pegged. For volatile coins, the timestamp-of-redemption USD price applies.
State withholding
State income tax treatment varies. SweepSlots does not withhold state tax at source.
Negatives we documented
- No PayPal. SweepSlots is in the broader group of operators that omit PayPal.
- No Apple Pay or Google Pay. Mobile-wallet checkout is absent; card entry only.
- Amex acceptance may be capacity-limited at some times (Amex’s higher merchant fees can lead operators to throttle Amex processing).
