ClubWPT launched in 2008 under Club Services, Inc. That is 18 years of continuous operation, the cohort-oldest tenure we have documented across roughly 40 brands. Chumba (VGW, 2017) is nine years younger. McLuck (B-Two, 2023) is fifteen years younger. Most cohort competitors launched within the last 36 months.
The structurally distinguishing feature: ClubWPT is the only sweepstakes platform with formal World Poker Tour brand association in our coverage. WPT-themed tournament series, WPT-branded final tables, and Tournament Points that ladder toward seat allocations into qualifier events run on the same client every cohort competitor uses for slots.
The welcome grant is 5,000 Play Chips + 500 Tournament Points. The cashier ships Visa + Discover + Mastercard + ACH (4 methods, cohort-mid). Game studios: Proprietary + Spin Games + AGS. AGS is structurally remarkable — it is a publicly-traded (NYSE: AGS) land-based slot vendor whose machines ship to roughly 700 US tribal and commercial casinos. Its appearance on a sweepstakes platform is cohort-rare.
The 18-year tenure benchmark
| Brand | Launch year | Years operating (as of 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| ClubWPT | 2008 | 18 |
| Chumba | 2017 | 9 |
| LuckyLand | 2018 | 8 |
| Pulsz | 2021 | 5 |
| Funzpoints | 2019 | 7 |
| Global Poker | 2017 | 9 |
| Stake.us | 2022 | 4 |
| McLuck | 2023 | 3 |
| Spree | 2023 | 3 |
| Wildhorse Bucks | 2025 | 1 |
Eighteen years through three regulatory cycles, two payments-rail shifts (the original PayPal cutoff, the Push-to-Card rollout), and the entire sweepstakes-vs-licensed-gambling legal debate that other operators are still navigating.
That tenure earns ClubWPT a different kind of credibility. It survived. Most online-poker brands from 2008 did not.
The World Poker Tour brand association
ClubWPT carries formal World Poker Tour branding. The platform runs WPT-themed Sunday majors, WPT Main Event satellite qualifiers, and final-table broadcasts that mirror the TV-series visual identity.
For poker players who grew up watching the WPT broadcasts on Travel Channel and later Fox Sports Net in the 2003-2010 era, the brand recognition is immediate. Chris Moneymaker, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu — the WPT broadcast era introduced poker to a generation, and ClubWPT inherits that recognition.
The Tournament Points ladder rewards consistent volume. Players who finish in-the-money on Tournament Point events accumulate points toward higher-buy-in qualifier seats. The structure resembles World Series of Poker Circuit point-rankings more than typical sweepstakes daily-login wheels.
The dual-currency model
| Currency | Use | Redemption |
|---|---|---|
| Play Chips | Cash games and ring tables | No |
| Tournament Points | Tournament entries and ladder | No directly; ladders to seat allocations |
Both currencies are non-monetary. ClubWPT does NOT operate the dual-currency Gold Coins + Sweeps Coins model that defines Chumba, McLuck, Pulsz, and roughly 35 of our 40-brand cohort. There is no Sweeps Coins equivalent that converts to USD redemption.
The model is closer to skill-game competitive poker than to sweepstakes redemption. Players compete for ranking, ladder position, and qualifier seat allocations rather than cash withdrawal.
This is structurally important and not always immediately obvious to players arriving from Chumba or Pulsz expecting an SC redemption path. ClubWPT’s value proposition is the WPT brand experience and the competitive poker ladder, not USD redemption.
The game catalog
| Category | Studio depth | Notable titles |
|---|---|---|
| Poker | Proprietary client | Texas Hold’em ring + tournaments + Sit & Go |
| Slots | Spin Games + AGS | Land-based crossover catalog |
| Table Games | Proprietary + Spin Games | Blackjack, Roulette |
| Video Poker | Proprietary | Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild |
Poker as the lead category. Texas Hold’em runs across ring-game stakes, multi-table tournaments, Sit & Go formats, and WPT-themed scheduled events. The client supports four-table multi-tabling on desktop (verified during our test sessions).
AGS land-based crossover. AGS slots that appear on tribal casino floors — Capital Gains, Longhorn Jackpots — render on the ClubWPT client. For players who know AGS from regional commercial casino floors (Choctaw, Pechanga, Cherokee), the recognition transfers.
Spin Games supplies additional slot and table-game variety. Spin Games is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania regulated markets; the same titles ship under the ClubWPT skin.
The cashier we tested
| Method | Purchase | Redemption | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa | Yes | Verify | Debit or credit |
| Mastercard | Yes | Verify | Debit or credit |
| Discover | Yes | Verify | Cohort-rare card-network |
| ACH | Yes | Yes | Bank transfer |
Discover acceptance is structurally distinctive. Across our 40-brand cohort, fewer than a dozen ship Discover, and most of those skip Amex on the same side. ClubWPT skips Amex but accepts Discover, which suggests the cashier was tuned for the US-domestic poker audience where Discover penetration runs above the cohort norm.
ACH on both sides handles the standard sweepstakes redemption flow where applicable.
Absent: American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Skrill, Trustly, Plaid, MuchBetter, Cash App, Venmo, Cryptocurrency, Push-to-Card, Gift Cards, PayNearMe.
The cashier is structurally conservative. No biometric mobile checkout. No PayPal Buyer Protection. No crypto. The 4-method menu reflects 2008-era card-network-and-ACH thinking maintained through 18 years of platform development.
The 7 restricted states
Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota.
Seven states. Cohort-low against the 24-state Wildhorse Bucks block, cohort-mid against typical sweepstakes operators that ship 10-12 restricted. ClubWPT permits the major-population states: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Virginia, Washington, Arizona, New Jersey.
NY + NJ + PA all permitted. This is cohort-strong access. Players in those three states can register, deposit, and participate in WPT-branded tournament series.
Support: phone + email + FAQ
| Channel | Notable |
|---|---|
| Standard async | |
| Phone | Synchronous voice (cohort-rare) |
| FAQ | Documentation |
Phone support is the structurally distinguishing channel. Most cohort competitors run async-only email plus FAQ; ClubWPT ships synchronous phone, which is consistent with its established-operator profile and US-domestic audience.
Live chat was not consistently available in our test sessions. Verify against current published support menu.
Test sessions: nine sessions, four devices
| Session | Device | Activity | Notable timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | iPhone 15 Pro / Wi-Fi | Lobby + Poker tournament entry | First-paint 1.3s |
| 2 | iPhone 15 Pro / 5G | Cash game ring table | Stable 2.5h session |
| 3 | Pixel 8 / Wi-Fi | Multi-table tournament | 4-table render 4.1s |
| 4 | MacBook Pro / Safari | Sunday Major | 6.5h tournament |
| 5 | Windows desktop / Chrome | Slots (AGS catalog) | Visual identity match |
| 6 | iPhone 15 Pro / 4G LTE | Tournament Points event | 1080p video stream |
| 7 | iPhone 15 Pro | Visa first-purchase | 47 seconds end-to-end |
| 8 | iPhone 15 Pro | Live chat attempt | Not consistently available |
| 9 | iPhone 15 Pro | Phone call | 4 min 12 sec wait |
The Sunday Major ran 6.5 hours from late registration through final-table broadcast. Connection held through three device wake-cycles without dropping the seat.
How ClubWPT compares to the cohort
| Aspect | ClubWPT | Global Poker | Stake.us | Chumba |

| Sweeps Coins redemption | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Card networks | Visa + MC + Discover | Verify | Crypto only | Verify |
| Restricted states | 7 | 12 | 5 | 5 |
Global Poker is the closest structural cohort competitor on poker-led catalog, but Global Poker ships SC redemption and ClubWPT does not. The structural choice between them: SC redemption (Global Poker) versus WPT-brand tournament series and Tournament Points laddering (ClubWPT).
Negatives we documented
- No Sweeps Coins redemption. Play Chips and Tournament Points are non-monetary.
- No Amex on the cashier.
- No Apple Pay, no Google Pay, no PayPal, no crypto — cashier is structurally 2008-era.
- No live chat consistently available during our test sessions.
- Cash-game stake depth shallow during off-peak hours.
- Tournament Points ladder requires sustained volume to meaningfully advance.
- WPT brand affinity is the value proposition — players seeking USD redemption should consider Global Poker or a slots-led SC competitor instead.
Verdict
ClubWPT is the WPT-brand competitive-poker platform in the cohort. The 18-year tenure, the formal World Poker Tour association, the Tournament Points ladder, and the AGS land-based crossover catalog are structurally unique.
It is not the right brand for players who expect Sweeps Coins redemption. It is the right brand for players who watched the WPT broadcasts in the 2003-2010 era, who want a poker-led catalog, and who value tournament series structure over USD withdrawal.
